important

This morning my dad (and I a little bit) worked on the sprinkler system at the house. The guy who owned this house before my parents put in the whole system by himself, so it can be an adventure trying to figure out where stuff is and how it actually works. That yellow line in the picture, we decided, is the gas line to the outdoor grill (apparently also a do-it-yourself) and though we didn't cut it, I'm glad I don't smoke cigarettes while I work in the yard.
I spent plenty of time in high school digging around sprinkler heads and saving chunks of turf to fill in holes, and today brought back lots of sweaty, dirty memories. One good thing about digging, though, is that it reminds me how important a college degree can be. Paul tells Timothy in 1 Timothy 6 to pursue perseverance and gentleness - perseverance definitely needs pursuing when sprinklers are involved.
