Yesterday my family got to spend the afternoon at the lake. Lake Sommerville is definitely one of my favorite places in Texas - the Army Corps of Engineers takes care of the lake and prohibits any development on its shores, making it one of the quietest, nicest lakes we have skied on. Tuesday afternoons are especially unpopular with most people, so we usually have the place to ourselves.
On this trip, Larry finally landed a 180 as he jumped both wakes. Pretty cool. I attempted to ride goofy on a wakeboard, and got smacked by the lake. Slalom is way better for me, it just makes all my muscles hurt the next day.
The sunset was breathtaking - no buildings or telephone wires to muck up the view, and a whole sky full of clouds that exploded in pink, red, orange, gold and fire. Absolutely wonderful. Milkshakes on the way home sealed the deal. Good trip to the lake.
