loving

I read (okay, more like skimmed) The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman today in context of wanting to skillfully love the guys and girls on my team. Both of my roommates communicate in "words of affirmation," and I and Joe communicate in "physical touch." Good stuff if we can use it rightly. Dietrich Bonhoeffer says, "The other person needs to retain his independence of me; to be loved for what he is, as one for whom Christ became man, died, and rose again, for whom Christ bought forgiveness of sins and eternal life .... I must meet him only as the person that he already is in Christ's eyes." Pray that we would love each other towards Jesus Christ, not towards each other.
