paternal

So for whatever reason, we've been talking a lot about parenting as a team. It's kinda weird, now that I think about it, but there it is.
As it turns out, a lot of us have parents, and especially fathers, who flat-out failed at being parents. As a team we're dealing with a lot of baggage that has come from physical abuse, emotional neglect, and a dearth of men leading the way in following our king. The other day we were talking about discipline, and I realized that probably half of our team has never seen a Godly, loving model of discipline. More of us would probably be a little weirded out to find our dads reading the bible over breakfast, or studying the life of King David to teach others how to chase after God.
So, thanks mom and dad for relentlessly spanking me in love. Thanks for modeling our father's love for me and his desire to see me conform to his will for my own good. Thanks for constantly pursuing God. Thanks for modeling life "walking in the enjoyment of the one who loves us and gave himself up for us."You guys have been the best parents I've ever heard of, no exaggeration.
