pointed

I met with a group of three students for coffee today. Israel, Tania, and Jasiel are Seniors at a one of the leading universities in the city. We were talking (okay, THEY were talking and I was trying to understand the general course of the conversation) about how to best go about leading the small group of students who have expressed an interest in following our God together. A few ideas were thrown around before everyone simultaneously looked at me and asked what I thought they should do. It was really cool - I felt like a missionary rock star.
I proceeded to stumble through a Spanish version of "if you just preach, when you leave, the preaching will leave with you, but if you bring others alongside you as you study the word together, when you leave college they will be able to bring others along with them." It took a lot longer than that, and I'm not entirely sure it stuck, but it was fun to explain anyway.
Pray that God will protect the students here from soap-boxing to each other when they need to just give love and prayer. Pray that God will give Israel, Tania, and Jasiel (pronounced haa-see-ELL) a deep desire to see younger believers grow with them as they follow Jesus Christ.
