nitrogenous

A couple of months back, the blinds in my bedroom fell on my head in the middle of the night. Since then, I've been sleeping on display for my neighbors, and so one of my goals this morning was to repair the visual openness of my bedroom. After drilling and re-drilling holes in the cement ceiling, I hoisted the blinds into place and ... we have window treatment. Added bonus - if I want to sleep past sunrise, I can.
Spent this afternoon with Israel in the library thinking, "I can't believe I'm getting paid to visit the library."
As it turns out, I need a passport to get a library card. Which is okay, I guess.
I picked up a book about compost (I'm fairly certain it's good that I'm studying agriculture if I get geeked up over compost) and realized that I can understand scientific Spanish way better than I can anything else I've tried to read - including a kid's book, which was actually pretty humiliating. At any rate, Israel read short stories and I read a compilation of research regarding the decomposition of waste organic matter.
I had invited my boss, Emily, over for dinner (warmed up spaghetti) but the power went out halfway through cooking noodles, so I finished cooking (the gas works without power) and Tim and Emily and I ate by candle light.
