Today I totaled the support that God has been providing and came in at 100%. So June 30 officially marks the end of the support raising phase of this next year, and is a great deal of confirmation that I'm on the right track. Thanks to all of you for your contribution to what God is going to do through me in Mexico City - he has provided finances abundantly.
Andy got back from 'east asia' yesterday, and his stories of bringing good news, together with the end of this support season, have got me started thinking about how to share the gospel here in H-town. I'm going to tackle a mall food court with Andy tomorrow, I think.
My favorite way to start spiritual conversations (in the US) right now is a stack of 50 note-card-sized photographs called a soularium. I like to spread them out on a table and ask passersby if they would like to take a photo survey. They usually get intrigued and answer questions like, "Which three images represent what you wish were a part of your life right now?" For whatever reason, people my age will often be open, honest and even stick around for a real conversation when I initiate with pictures - go figure. So you can pray that God will run me into some bored teenagers that are hungry in their spirit for something that sticks.
