fleeting

So talking to people in a mall food court didn't go too well. Andy and I were probably the only guys (without girls) younger than thirty in the whole place - which makes pretty good sense, seeing as I haven't been to a mall, especially by myself, in a very long time. We brainstormed better places to strike up conversations with guys, and toyed with the idea of frequenting a bar, but we decided in the end to treat this break like ... a break.

I've been reading most mornings, usually in Genesis or 2 Corinthians, and some afternoons too, in books like The Hobbit, or Religious Affections. Having the free time to fix breakfast in the morning, eating my mom's excellent cooking at night, and spending quality time with friends here in Houston are gifts that will be gone here in a few weeks, so I'm doing the best I can to relish them.
