transferable

On my way to Dallas this morning I got to watch the sunrise and enjoy the cool morning air. I've been consistently impressed by how cool and pleasant early summer mornings are, even in Houston. I guess I've never really gotten out of bed early enough to enjoy them in the past. I slowed down in Anderson (I think) right around shooting time and heard a mockingbird greeting the new day in the otherwise silent little town. Listening to mockingbirds in the predawn light is one of my most favorite things to do in Texas.

I got to Dallas in time to have breakfast with the Johnson family - eating with three generations of Johnsons again was really fun, even though Brian made me feel really awkward by handing off his daughter to me without warning - I don't really know what to do with a baby. Thankfully, he rescued her from my fumbling arms before I had a chance to inflict any harm.

I'm reading the "Transferable Concepts" authored by Bill Bright as a part of my training for STINT. He has a pretty consistent theme - Confess any sin in your life, then willfully submit yourself to God's commands in acknowledgment that he loves you and desires to bless you and to work through you. Expect him to do mighty things. I think I like Bill Bright.
