little

Whoa, today was my designated "sabbath" - which felt a little strange since I don't feel like I've been doing a lot of work - and I got pretty severely reminded by "Life Together'' by Dietrich Bonhoeffer to be thankful for the little stuff that God has given me. Like:
A schweet-awesome roommate.
Delicous Mexican food.
Health.
An apartment.
Girls on my team who are steadfastly following him and challenging us to do the same.
A hot shower this morning.
A Metro system to get around this mega-city.
Coffee.
A friend in the US to follow-up on evangelism from the Spring semester (shout-out to SE).
Starbucks.
And....
New shoes. Check those out. One of the guys on STINT before me left his shoes here and ... they fit. God is definitely looking out for me - even with the little stuff like hand-me-down shoes. Bonhoeffer writes, "We pray for the big things and forget to give thanks for the ordinary, small (and yet really not small) gifts, How can God entrust great things to one who will not thankfully receive from Him the Little things?"
