I've gotten in the habit (definitely a good one) of hanging out at 'Tec.' One of the girls at the meeting today mentioned that she didn't drink CocaCola because she had heard that some of the corporate folks were involved in devil worship. After a quick scan of internet rumors and a reminder of Luke 7, I assured myself that my favorite drink ever is probably still okay.CocaCola is amazing for several reasons, but my favorite is that no matter where you go in the whole world, if you see a red and white sign that vaguely resembles a coke can, you know what you're about to get. Regardless of language, culture, lifestyle, and food, coke is just about all over the place. It may look a little different here and there. It might be pronounced funny, but a coke is still a coke. Africa, Asia, America or Europe.
It reminds me a lot of the good news of Jesus Christ. Sometimes the language changes, and sometimes people don't use pews or hymnals, but the gospel is still the gospel, anywhere you go. This picture is of a bottle with an arabic label - it sounds out literally "CocaCola." Different language, different culture, but coke and the redeeming love of the almighty God of the university are exactly the same.
