So Toluca, a small Mexican town of 2 million inhabitants, is a pretty cool place. Literally, the temperature was a lot lower, so we got to break out (or buy) scarves and gloves and enjoy drinking atole in the mornings.
God is doing some pretty cool stuff in Toluca. We were on campus for two and a half days (about twelve hours total) talking to students. We would ask if anyone knew anyone who loves Jesus Christ and wants to make an impact on their campus. Responses pretty much oscilatted between "there are no Christians on this campus" and "yes, I love Jesus Christ and will you tell me more about how to have an impact here?"
It was pretty surreal.
In the time we spent on campus, we met about twenty students who are either actively following the Lord and need some companionship, or are interested in starting something right now.
I would get back to the hotel completely exhausted from talking in Spanish all day (okay, for five hours ... but it feels like all day) but thinking "THIS feels like what we should have been doing in Mexico City all along."
Please pray that 1) God would move mightily in Toluca 2) we would wisely follow up with the people we met and 3) that we would pursue our work in Mexico City with the same faith and vigor that we exhibited over the last three days.
Shout out to Mom on her birthday!
