So today we hit campus as a group and decided to split up into twos and threes to try to find students. I started with Michelle and Mindy, but got side-tracked with a bunch of guys outside the architecture faculty, so I spent most of the day talking to Mexican students by myself. The practice in Spanish was fun and exhausting, but at the end of the day I was in touch with half a dozen students involved in the Mexico version of InterVarsity and got to go to their meeting.
It was awesome. Six of us sat around a picnic table in the sun and read the bible together. The guy leading was really careful not to pontificate (really common in Mexican Christian culture) but instead drew out everyone's opinions as he challenged us from God's word. We exchanged prayer requests and prayed, then went to class (they went to class, I went to go rest my brain). Praise God for students following him together!
